REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — A vice presidential candidate of presidential candidate President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), KH Ma’ruf Amin believed he can win votes in the regions, which become bases of Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), such as Bekasi and Depok, West Java. He invited his political rivals to use polite ways, in order to win votes.
“I think we are competing to influence people and attract people in good ways and I don’t think there is problem,” said Ma’ruf on Wednesday (Nov 7).
Ma’ruf optimistic in 2019 presidential election, his side could win many people's hearts. Moreover, he has been communicating with many people through Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI).
“In presidential election, we want to win people,” Ma’ruf added.
Ma’ruf was grateful because based on survey, his camp has begun to win many people’s hearts in West Java. According to him, it cannot be separated from what Jokowi did during this time.
“There are benefits that felt by people, then because ulemas support and our communication,” Ma’ruf said.
