REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, LONDON -- Aromatherapy entrepreneurs from French claim that they import a lot of materials from Indonesia. They bought essential oils from Aceh, West Sumatra, Yogyakarta, Solo, Nusa Tenggara and Maluku which are used for cosmetics, blends / food flavoring, fragrances, perfumes, and the pharmaceutical industry.
This was revealed at the Frankfurt Consulate General meeting with Mayor Grasse and Prodarom businessmen and Gasebo, Grasse, said the Economic Consul of the Indonesian Consulate General in Marseille, France, Yonatri Rilmania, told Antara London on Thursday.
It was said at a meeting held in connection with the introduction and discussion of activities to be held in Marseille and surrounding areas. In this connection, the Indonesian Consulate General in Marseille said that Indonesian businessmen, including timber, leather, coffee, planned to visit Marseille at the end of November.
In the context of the business meeting, the Indonesian Consulate General expects that entrepreneurs from Grasse and their partners can meet with these Indonesian entrepreneurs. Mayor Grasse, M Viaud welcomed the meeting and said that if there was an activity organized in Grasse, the district office stated its readiness to help and coordinate.
Meanwhile, in a meeting with Prodarom businessman, President Prodarom, Philippe Masse conveyed that he was looking for partners to meet business with Indonesian businessmen. Furthermore, he said in Grasse there were three of the biggest esential oils, namely Fragonard, Galimard, and Molinard.
Prodarom, founded in 1724, is an association of French national aromatic products processing companies based in Grasse, with 65 members representing 80 percent of the aromatic product sector throughout France and employing more than 5500 French workers.
Aromatic staples processed by aromatic processing companies in Grasse are from France and imported from other countries. The main supplier of essential oils to the aromatic processing industry in Grasse include Italy, the US, China, India, Brazil, Madagascar and Indonesia. Aromatic staples produced in France include lavander, mimosa, rosemary, basil, geranium, and jasmine. Meanwhile, aromatic staples imported by France include patchouli, vanilla, clove and mint.
While regions in Indonesia produce volatile oil including Aceh, West Sumatra, Yogyakarta, Solo, Nusa Tenggara and Maluku. Essential oils are used for cosmetics, mixtures / flavorings of fs, fragrances, perfumes, and the pharmaceutical industry. The Payan company Bertrand has invested in essential oil refining in Aceh.
