REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, LOMBOK -- President Joko Widodo and First Lady Iriana paid another visit to West Nusa Tenggara Province on Thursday. They monitored the handling of the impact of a powerful earthquake that struck the island of Lombok last August.
The president and his entourage arrived at the Lombok International Airport at 10:15 a.m. local time. West Nusa Tenggara Governor Zulkieflimansyah and Vice Governor Sitti Rohmi Djalillah greeted the head of state upon arrival at the airport.
Shortly after arriving at the airport, the president held a meeting with district heads and the mayor whose areas were affected by the natural disaster. "I will like to ensure that the funding assistance could really be utilized by the public by streamlining 17 procedures of disbursing it into one procedure," he stated.

Minister of Public Works and Housing Basuki Hadimuljono briefed the meeting on the developments in the handling of the earthquake's impact.
Also present at the meeting were Minister/State Secretary Pratikno, Social Affairs Minister Gumiwang Kartasasmita, Chief of the National Defense Forces Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, and Chief of the National Police General Tito Karnavian.
Following the meeting, the president and his entourage departed for Sumbawa Island to inspect the handling of the earthquake's impact.
From Sumbawa, the president will travel to East Lombok to inspect the handling of the earthquake's impact. He also would hand over scholarships to the affected students.
