REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Former South Sumatra governor Alex Noerdin failed to meet the summon of Attorney General investigation team. He was scheduled to be examined as witness on graft case of grant funds and social assistance for South Sumatra Provincial Government for 2013 budget year on Thursday (Sept 20).

It was the second time Alex missed the summons. According to Junior attorney for special crimes (Jampidsus) Warih Sadono, Alex could not come as he had to attend inauguration of South Sumatra acting governor.

"We will summon him again on Wednesday (Sept 27)," Warih said when confirmed by Republika.co.id, on Thursday (Sept 20).

Alex was first summoned on Sept 13. He could not attend due to his duty abroad.

Related to the investigation of the graft case, Warif refused to speculate about the status of Alex. He also has not been able to ascertain whether level of investigation will be upgraded or not.

“The case still in the process, we will see later,” Warih added.

In grant funds and social assistance for South Sumatra Provincial Government for 2013 budget year graft case, Attorney General has named two suspects, namely head of Regional Assets and financial Management Agency (BPKAD) South Sumatra Province Laonna Toningg and former head of national unity and poltics (Kesbangpol) South Sumatra Province Ikhwanuddin.

The determination of the suspects was done after investigators conducted examination to a number of witnesses, including South Sumatra Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) members. The case has incurred Rp21 billion in state losses.
