REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Gerindra Party secretary general Ahmad Muzani said Koalisi Indonesia Adil dan Makmur (Indonesian Fair and Prosperous Coalition) supporting Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno pair's contestation in 2019 presidential election has not finalized their national campaign team until Tuesday (Sept 18) night. The coalition said they were considering to invite a number of ulemas to join the campaign team.

“Numerous habib, ulemas, kiai, and Islamic Boarding School leaders, and people who want to join us was one of the reasons, so we can’t finalize it,” Muzani said.

Meanwhile, Sandiaga admitted that he has not received yet the names from a number of ulemas from Ulema Ijtima event. However, he did not deny that there are several names of scholars, clerics, and a number of religious figures from various religions to be included in his campaign team.

“We will complete it soon,” Sandiaga said.

According to Sandiaga, on Wednesday (Sept 19), the structure of the campaign team will be finalized and will be verified by Democratic Party chief patron Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY). He said it was as SBY wish.

“They (the coalition) has submitted the names and we have discussed it in general with Mr SBY,” Sandiaga added.

Indonesia Adil Makmur coalition plans to hand over the structure of the success team to General Election Commission (KPU) on Thursday (Sept 20).
