REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Several names from Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) were said have the opportunity to replace Sandiaga Uno as Jakarta deputy governor, including Ahmad Syaikhu. According to Gerindra Party politician Andre Rosiade, Ahmad Syaikhu who is also an ustaz has a good track record.
“He (Syaikhu) is a good figure,” said Andre on Tuesday (Sept 18).
Syaikhu had served as Bekasi deputy mayor in 2013 to 2018. In addition, he also became West Java Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) member.
Andre said Syaikhu's experience in political sphere should not be doubted. Therefore, he is considered an appropriate figure to replace Sandiaga as one of Jakarta leaders.

“He has enough experience and also a good figure, but we will wait Gerindra Party chief patron Prabowo Subianto and PKS chairman Sohibul Iman decision,” Andre added.
Andre said the meeting between Gerindra Party and PKS has not been determined yet. The discussion about who will be Jakarta deputy governor will be held following issuance Presidential Decree (Keppres) on the discharge of Sandiaga.
Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said Presidential Decree related to Sandiaga discharge was recieved on Monday (Sept 18) night. Previously, he said before there is Presidential Decree, the process to replace Sandiaga can not be done.
