REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan reviews the implementation of the Jakarta light rail operation test (LRT) prior to the end of the Jakarta LRT operation test due on September 14.
"After the end of the first phase of the LRT trial on September 14, we scheduled an evaluation and focus for further progress," said Managing Director of PT LRT Jakarta, Allan Tandiono, here on Wednesday.
Based on the shipment on his offcial Instagram account (@aniesbaswedan), Anies seemed to enjoy the LRT limited operation test accompanied by the ranks of the Jakarta Provincial Government to the LRT Mal Kelapa Gading station, North Jakarta. In fact, Anies had a chance to look into the control room where the machinist worked.
Since the issuance of the Jakarta Principles for Implementation of the LRT limited operation test from the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, that was the first time Anies tried the mode of transportation under the PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) project. The Jakarta LRT has pocketed the No Objection Principle Letter on a limited operation test from the Jakarta Transportation Department which refers to several things, one of which is the Technical Recommendation Letter of the Director General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation regarding safety recommendations for the Jakarta LRT operation test on August 28.
In addition, the Coordinator of the National Public Accessibility Movement, David Tjahjana also came to the Jakarta LRT limited operation test. He wanted to provide input to make the Jakarta LRT a disability-friendly service.
During the operation test period, facilities for people with disabilities are still under construction.
Previously, operations in the framework of the LRT trial between Velodrome Station and Kelapa Gading Mal Station had been going on for 30 calendar days, namely 21 August to 20 September 2018. The limited operation test was intended not for the general public.
