REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesian President Joko Widodo has attended the World Economic Forum on ASEAN held at the National Convention Center in Hanoi, Vietnam, on Wednesday. The head of state delivered his speech at the plenary session of the "ASEAN Priorities in the Fourth Industrial Revolution," a presidential spokesman Bey Machmudin noted in a statement here on Wednesday.
The president and other heads of state were also scheduled to visit the ASEAN Corner on the 2nd floor of the convention center
During his visit to Vietnam, President Joko Widodo, commonly known as Jokowi, had planned to hold a series of meeting with Vietnam Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Chairwoman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, among others.
He will also attend the launch of the Go-Viet application, online transportation service Go-Jek's first international operation, and met with CEOs of Cisco and Amazon.
The president and First Lady Iriana will return to Indonesia on late Wednesday aboard the Indonesia-1 presidential aircraft from the Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi.

On Tuesday, President Jokowi and First Lady Iriana arrived in Vietnam. They were greeted with a state ceremony at Van Phong Chu Tich Nuoc's Vietnam Presidential Palace in Hanoi on a visit to the country on Tuesday.
They were warmly received by the Vietnamese President, Tran Dai Quang, and the First Lady of Vietnam, Nguyen Thi Hien. The president arrived at the ceremony location at 16.30 Western Indonesia Standard Time (WIB). The president and Mrs. Iriana were welcomed by children who raised the flag of the two countries.
The series of state ceremonies continued with the examination of honorary ranks after the national anthem had been sung by the two countries. Jokowi and Dai Quang then introduced their delegates to each other.
After that, Jokowi and the First Lady were treated to a military parade before proceeding to the tête-à-tête meeting and bilateral meetings of the two countries' delegations.
During his visit, Jokowi brought a delegation consisting of Coordinating Minister for Political Law and Security Wiranto, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, Industry Minister Airlangga Hartarto, Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Thomas Trikasih Lembong, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, and the Indonesian Ambassador to Vietnam Ibnu Hadi.
