REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PANGKALAN BUN -- Two foreign tourists and a tour guide who had reportedly gone missing in the Tanjung Puting National Park (TNTP) in Central Kalimantan Province since Monday were found on Tuesday afternoon.

They were found not far away from the orangutan-feeding place near the Pondok Tanggui Camp in the Tanjung Puting National Park (TNTP) and were all in good health, spokesman for the Orangutan Foundation Indonesia Fajar Dewanto said here on Tuesday.

"Admittedly, they lost their way as they chose to hike in the forest after witnessing orangutan-feeding activity. But when they were going to return to Pondok Tanggul Camp in TNTP they got confused to find the way. Moreover, it was raining at that time there," he said.

The three are Alban Dudek and Jean Luc Dudek of France and Ady of Indonesia.

Earlier, TNTP Chief Helmi stated that those foreign tourists had witnessed TNTP staffs feeding orangutans. "However, until yesterday evening, they had not returned to the Pondok Tanggui Camp in TNTP. A team (of officers) are still trying to find them," Helmi said on Tuesday.

Chief of the Travel Agents Association (ASITA) Thomas Sari Wuwur believed the two tourists and tour guide are still in the forest in the Pondok Tanggul Camp. He said they had most likely taken an unusual route to return to the Pondok Pinang Camp. Moreover, the tour guide has only thrice escorted tourists in the national park.

"We have sent (a person) to the scene to obtain information about the missing tourists. Who belongs to the motorboat carrying the tourists to travel there?" he added.
