"In addition, a lifelong deterrence can also be imposed on foreigners who are deemed to disrupt security and public order," head of the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center, Gede Dudy Duwita, said in Denpasar on Monday.

In accordance with Article 102 of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration, foreign nationals can be banned from entering Indonesian territory for a maximum of six months, and each time, the term can be extended by a maximum of six months.

However, further deterrence decisions need to be taken by the Directorate General of Immigration of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights by considering all cases.

The Japanese national, identified by the initials TK, was deported to his country from I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on Monday after leaving Kerobokan Prison in Badung district.

Before being expelled to Japan, TK was placed temporarily at the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center because his deportation could not be carried out right away. He returned to Japan at the expense of his family.

TK was deported from Bali for carrying out dangerous activities and allegedly endangering security and public order, or not respecting or disobeying laws and regulations, in accordance with Article 75, Paragraph (1), of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration.

He was earlier sentenced to five years' imprisonment after he was found guilty of molesting five children.

According to Duwita, TK had a limited retirement stay permit, code C319, which was valid until October 31, 2020.

He was reported to the authorities for sexually abusing five PAUD children during lunch break during the period from January to April 2019.

At that time, TK asked the five children to enter his room and committed immoral acts by promising them gifts.

The five children later told their parents who reported him to the authorities.

Based on Immigration records in Bali, TK had been volunteering at a PAUD institution in Denpasar since February 2018. While volunteering, he lived in one of the rooms at the PAUD facility.

He worked odd jobs such as watering plants, cutting grass, repairing damaged PAUD facilities, and painting gates. He also occasionally cooked for PAUD students.
