#2019GantiPresiden to hold national volunteer declaration

#2019GantiPresiden volunteer to hold grand declaration on Sunday at Taman Aspirasi.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Volunteer of #2019GantiPresiden, Mustofa Nahrawardaya said National Volunteer Declaration will be staged on Sunday (May 6). The event will not be held in Arjuna Wiweha Statue at Car Free Day area as previously announced.

The police have reviewed a notice from #2019GantiPresiden volunteer regarding the event. The volunteer then decided to relocate the declaration to Taman Aspirasi in National Monument (Monas) area, Medan Merdeka Barat Street, Central Jakarta.

Mustofa assured the event is not affiliated to certain political party. "Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) politician Mardani Ali Sera will attend the declaration on behalf of himself," he said at Cikini, Central Jakarta, on Saturday (May 5).

Islamic figures, among others Neno Warisman and Muslim preacher Abu Jibril Fuad will also attend the declaration of #2019GantiPresiden volunteer to promote the movement to elect new president in 2019 election. The declaration, Mustafa added, proved strong will of the people to seek new presidential figure.

"However, during the declaration, we will not show support to any figure as presidential candidate," the owner of Twitter account @netizentofa said.

The #2019GantiPresiden volunteer have not decide their support to those who have announced their will to run in 2019 presidential election. They considered for now it was not important to discuss about the figures.

"What matter most is new figures because there are many better alternatives," Mustofa who is a well-known social media activist said.

"Hashtags war" was started in social medias. The war continued last week (April 29) at Car Free Day area, Central Jakarta.

People who support reelection of President Joko Widodo showed their political preference with #DiaSibukKerja. Meanwhile, the contra group used #2019GantiPresiden.

According to Election Supervisory Board member Rahmat Bagja, the phenomenon of hashtag war is actually legitimate. Nevertheless, participants should not use political parties attributes.

Rahmat said the movement will be classified as a campaign if there is a logo of any political party. He asserted that no campaign is allowed ahead of official schedule.
