REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Vice President Jusuf Kalla (JK) departed to Bali on Tuesday (April 10). He will inaugurate Indonesia-Africa Forum (IAF) at Nusa Dua Convention Center. He also will review the exhibition on the event.
Representatives from 46 African countries will attend the 2018 Indonesia-Africa Forum in Nusa Dua, Bali on 10-11 April. "Representatives from 46 African countries have declare their commitment to attend the IAF," said African Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Daniel Simanjuntak when met at Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center on Monday night (April 9).
A number of representatives of African countries that will be present in the IAF 2018 include Niger Foreign Minister, Madagascar Foreign Minister, Cameroon Foreign Minister, Senegal Minister of Railways, Minister of Commerce and Industry of Mozambique, Nigerian Minister of Mines, Trade Minister Niger, Agriculture Minister Gabon, Minister of Commerce of Lesotho, Algerian President's Envoy, Deputy Minister of Trade of Mauritania, and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Morocco.
Furthermore, several ministers and high officials of Indonesia will also attend the series of IAF 2018 meetings, including Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Finance, Minister of Trade, Transportation Minister, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Minister of National Development Planning, Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), and Head of Creative Economy Agency (Bekraf).
IAF is a platform for Indonesian and African governments, also business actors to promote economic and trade cooperation. In addition, IAF also to increase investment opportunities and technical cooperation between Indonesia and the countries of the African Union region.
The total value of Indonesia's trade with Africa in 2017 reached 8.85 billion US dollars. This value is increased by 15.49 percent over the previous year.
Commodities exported to Africa include palm oil, textiles and textile products. There are also paper, soap, and coffee.
