REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- Special Task Force for Food (Satgas Pangan) West Java has assured there is no fake eggs distribution at the markets. The fake eggs issue was totally fake news or hoax that went viral on social media recently.
"We have been conducting an investigation in almost all traditional and modern markets in West Java and there is no indication of fake eggs distribution and circulation," said Special Task Force for Food (Satgas Pangan) West Java head, Samudi on Tuesday (March 20).

According to Samudi, fake eggs issue that went viral on social media already made people feel restless. Therefore, his team conducted the investigation. The result of data collection from the field then analyzed together with other related parties.
"Our conclusion, there is no fake egg, its totally hoax," Samudi added.
Samudi urged people to not believe the fake eggs issue. He also asked people to not spread fake news.
He said the perpetrator who spreaded hoax has violated the law. "We also asked all people to not spread the fake eggs issue anymore through social media and others because it's clear that the issue was a lie," Samudi said.
Meanwhile, President Director of Jakarta Food Station Arief Prasetyo also has ensured no fake eggs circulated in the markets. His team has performed direct checking and conducted laboratory testing on egg samples from the market.
The results showed none of the eggs were fake. "The news of fake eggs distribution is a hoax," Arief said in a press conference at Jakgrosir, Kramatjati, East Jakarta on Tuesday.
