REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesia's Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi said that the ministry would focus on three issues to back the government's target to improve its rank on ease of doing business (EoDB).

The ministry would focus on tariff of non-tax state revenue (PNBP), online delivery order, and time of loading and unloading, Sumadi elaborated here on Monday.

He stated that the ministry has considered reducing the tariff of PNBP from sea transportation. "We have agreed to reduce the tariff, both on state revenue and corporate revenue, so that it would be more competitive."

According to Sumadi, the tariff reduction is aimed at improving EoDB in Indonesia.

In addition to the tariff, the ministry would also focus on online delivery order for imported goods in ports and loading and unloading time.

Online delivery order is a receipt on goods delivery issued by shipping lines to goods owner, as an evidence that the goods have been delivered.

The ministry has submitted its report to the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution on loading and unloading time.

"When we determine the dwelling time to be three days, then 30-40 percent of the goods would stay in ports under various circumstances. Most of them are yet to finish the checking process, but some are piled up in the port because the owners do not have a warehouse or buyers," he revealed.
