REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- President Joko Widodo reminded again the importance of regional government in boosting economic growth, which can be done through a number of measures. He emphazised the need of licensing simplification.
"The problem, as I have mentioned multiple times, is laid on the length of time to go through licensing processes. There are many regulations, recommendations and requirements. I am asking for those aspects to be cut down as soon as possible," he said in Bandung, Thursday.
In a number of occasions, the President had reiterated that there are two main issues that could boost economic growth, increase in investment and export volume. The same statement was also made by the President in front of all Governors of regions in Indonesia that had gathered in Bandung.
He believed that simplifying licensing processes could accelerate the movement and expansion in the business sector.
"We also hope for a subsequent expansion in job vacancies as well," said the President as stated in the release by the Deputy of Protocol, Press and Media of the Presidential Secretariat Bey Machmudin.
In order to carry out such plans, the government is looking to formulate regulations that could integrate distribution patterns between provinces across the country, aiming to make it more effective and efficient.
"We will follow up with the exploration of the details. It should ensure that the processes are being simplified rather than making it even more complex," he said.
Furthermore, the government will also integrate the distribution pattern with other programs, including the sea toll road.
