Anies support MER-C program for Palestine

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan support Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (MER-C) program for Palestina. The committee was planned to develop and adding two floors of the Indonesian Hospital (RSI) which located in Gaza Strip.

"This is honourable effort to defend the struggle of Palestinians to achieve their independencee. MER-C has become our representative in the forefront of coming directly to the land of Palestine, of course, its presence to ensure that the Palestinians are healthy," said Anies hosting audience team of MER-C at Jakarta City Hall on Monday (18/12).

According to Anies, the effort through a hospital was something that became fundamental need, especially in the the zone that battle was still going on. He asserted will always support MER-C program for Palestine.

The audience team members that attended at Jakarta City Hall were Sarbini Murad, Joserizal, Faried Thalib, and Idrus M. Alatas. There also Ichsan Thalib, Geisz Chalifah, Rizal Syarifudin, Luly Larissa, and Rima Manzanaris.

Leader of RSI in Gaza Strip, Faried Thalib explained the design of RSI development for the 3rd and 4th floors is being finalized by the MER-C Architect Team. The building area per floor is about 3,000 square meters so that for two floors the whole area will reach 6,000 square meters.

"We will send about 15 to 20 volunteers to the Gaza Strip, who have experience to build 3rd and 4th floor of RSI," Faried added.

MER-C also planned to develop the equipment of RSI as main hospital in northern Gaza Strip. Faried said if the funds are sufficient, MER-C will equip RSI with MRI.
