REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- TNI commander Gen. Gatot Nurmantyo said, military equipments can be used to cope with natural disaster. TNI's equipments are ready to be used anytime needed for natural disaster relief.
"We are prepared with main equipment, weapons sistems and equipment for war. Therefore, we are ready anytime to face the war. When natural disaster hit the nation, these equipment can be utilized soon," he said in TNI headquarters, Cilangkap, East Jakarta, on Monday.
Gatot asserted, TNI's equipment can be deployed to help natural disaster victims without president's instruction.
"Whenever there is a disaster, it can be deployed," he said.
In response to Mount Agung's eruption in Bali, Gatot said, the army has prepared a field kitchen. He was ready to add more personnel from other region if needed.
