REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- State-owned oil and gas company Pertamina will build a solar power generating plant (PLTS) with a total capacity of 4 MWp (Megawatts peak) at a cost of Rp67 billion.
State-owned liquefied natural gas producer PT Badak NGL and PT Pertamina Power Indonesia, on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding on plan to develop new renewable energy (NRE).
The agreement was signed between President Director of PT Badak NGL, Didik Sasongko, and Director of PT Pertamina Power Indonesia, Ginanjar.
The power to be generated by the PLTS would be used to meet power requirement in Badak, Bontang, East Kalimantan, Ginanjar said.
Pertamina has been committed to building power plants with new renewable energy since 1982 with the building of geothermal power plants. Until 2017, Pertamina has build geothermal power pants with a total installed capacity of 587 MW.
The signing of the MoU marked the cooperation between subsidiaries of Pertamina, Ginanjar said. PT Badak NGL and PT Pertamina Power Indonesia are subsidiaries of the state energy company.
