REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Setya Novanto's attorney, Fredrich Yunadi said the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has froze his client's and family members's bank accounts since 2016. 

"Their bank accounts has been frozen since 2016 without any reason. There was only a letter of request for account blocking," said Fredrich when confirmed in Jakarta on Tuesday (28 November) 

However, he did not explain whose account of Novanto family that was being frozen. "Just ask the investigator," he said. 

Meanwhile, KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah has not been able to explain further about the blocking of Novanto's account. 

"It was a mere of investigation technique. The account blocking and others are the investigator's authority in accordance with the procedural law," explained Febri. 

In the investigation of e-ID case with suspect Anang Sugiana Sudihardjo, KPK has prevented Deisti Astriani Tagor, Novanto's wife going abroad for the next six months since 21 November 2017. 

Deisti was also a former Commissioner of PT Mondialindo Graha Perdana. 

Meanwhile, Novanto's two children, namely Dwina Michaella and Rheza Herwindo who also have been summoned as witnesses for Anang. They have not fulfilled KPK's summon.

During the trial of Jakarta Corruption Court, Deisti and Rheza were known to have stocks in PT Mondialindo Graha Perdana which was the majority shareholder of PT Murakabi Sejahtera, one of the participant companies of e- ID. 

Novanto was renamed as suspect of e-ID corruption on November 10.

Novanto denied Article 2 paragraph 1 subsider article 3 of Law No. 31 of 1999 on Eradication of Corruption as amended by Law No. 20 of 2001 on Amendment of Law Number 31 of 1999 on Eradication of Corruption Act jo article 55 paragraph 1 to-1 Criminal Code. (Idealisa Masyrafina)
