REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Former deputy chairman of Corrpution Eradication Commission (KPK), Haryono Umar said all decisions that issued by KPK leaders must be collective collegial. It means, the decision should get the approval from all five leaders of the anti-graft body.
Haryono critized allegedly case of falsification documents and abuse of authority by KPK Chariman Agus Rahardjo and deputy Saut Situmorang.
Both of them suspected for making fake letter related to travel ban request that sent to Immigration Authorities on last October 2.
However, the travel ban issued despite a success pretrial motion of Setya Novanto on September 29 and invalid the suspect status in high profile e-ID card graft case.
"If the letter is ask to prevent someone to go abroad, it means all KPK leaders already approved it because all decisions come from collective collegial, so it based on mutual agreement," Haryono said to Republika.co.id, on Thursday (November 9).
Therefore, Haryono explained, police must see further falsified letter meant by rapporteur.
He said literally a fake letter means it is a made up.
However, the letter on request of travel ban against House of the Representatives speaker could be said fake if there was no approval from five KPK leaders, but two among them still issued it.
Public Relations of National Police Inspector General Setyo Wasisto said, Saut Situmorang as KPK deputy chairman has sent Letter on request for prevention for traveling abroad to the Directorate General of Immigration on October 2, 2017.
The letter was submitted after South Jakarta District Court judge Cepi Iskandar accepted Setnov's pretrial motion. Judge Cepi stated on September 29, 2017, that the naming of Setnov as a suspect was not based on appropriate procedures.
