REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The State Audit Board (BPK), Tuesday, denied claims that it had reported three investigators of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to the Jakarta Metropolitan Police over charges of power abuse.

"Institutionally, the BPK has never reported three KPK investigators as carried in a news report (to the police)," Chief of BPK Public Relations and International Cooperation Bureau R. Yudi Ramdan Budiman noted in an official statement released on Tuesday.

He said the KPK had summoned BPK auditor Arief Fadillah for questioning. However, it is not Fadillah who had reported the KPK investigators to the Jakarta Metropolitan Police.

Only a BPK employee named Ario Bilowo was one of the three KPK auditors who was reported to the police.

"According to the last information we have received, the men who reported the case to the Jakarta Metropolitan Police are not institutionally related to the BPK," he said.

The three KPK investigators are Ario Bilowo, Arend Arthur Duma, and Edy Kurniawan. Ikham Aufar Zuhairi and Fadillah have reported them to the police on charges of abusing power and being involved in objectionable deeds in accordance with article 335 of the Penal Code.

The police have, so far, questioned six witnesses in the case against the three people.
