Over 90 thousand visit Indonesia Festival in Moscow

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, LONDON -- More than 90 thousand people visited the Indonesian Festival held by the Indonesian Embassy at the Hermitage Garden in Moscow from August 4-6, 2017, according to a statement from the Embassy received by Antara here, Tuesday.

The festival was opened by Indonesian Trade Minister Enggartiasto Lukita, along with Ambassador of Indonesia to Russia M. Wahid Supriyadi, Director of Asia at Russian Foreign Ministry Ludmila Georgievna Vorobyeva, Moscow City Administration Representative Dridze Evgeniy Borisovich, and Chairman of the Russian-Indonesian Business Council Mikhail Kuritsyn.

The festival, entitled 'Visit Wonderful Indonesia: Enjoy its Diversity', featured cultural performances and showcased Indonesian products, food and fruits.

Ambassador Supriyadi said the festival aimed to promote Indonesia's trade, tourism and investment in Russia.

The festival also featured a business matching and business forum, in which some 25 companies participated. "This festival is in line with the economic diplomacy program of the Indonesia government to increase the value of the country's exports to Russia, as well as the flow of investment and the number of Russian tourists to Indonesia," he said.

Three documents of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) were signed at the business forum between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Jakarta City and Moscow City, Central Java Province and Samara, and JSC Institute Orgenergostroy and PT Surveyor Indonesia.

The cooperation agreements between the provinces and cities of both the countries were also signed between Jakarta and Moscow Provincial Administrations, West Java Provincial Administrations and Bashkortostan, Central Java Province and the Sverdlovsk region, as well as Medan City (North Sumatra) and Rostov on Don.
