REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MAKASSAR -- Vice President Jusuf Kalla has received a medal of merit from Muhammadiyah University (Unismuh) in Makassar, South Sulawesi, for his service in promoting the educational sector.

"The medal of merit is bestowed upon Kalla in recognition of his services to promote the education sector, particularly at Unismuh," Unismuh Rector Abdul Rahman Rahim said on Friday.

The conferment of the award coincided with the 54th anniversary of the university. This is the sixth time the vice president to visit the university.

"May the medal of merit encourage Kalla to always dedicate himself to Unismuh. We hope he will pay greater attention (to Unismuh) because his attention is useful for other people," he remarked.
