REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Islamic musician, Kumayl Mustafa Daood, preferred Indonesian coffee better than coffee originated from other countries. Moreover, Indonesia has a lot of varieties of coffee. "Indonesian coffee is popular abroad," he said.

Mustafa mentioned Gayo and Toraja coffee as example. Each region has their own uniqness, started from types of the coffee, ways of roasting, up to the serving.

"Meanwhile, in Lombok, they have a very distinct taste of coffee. Indonesian coffees taste so good," the motor of "Debu" music group said to Republika.co.id, on Friday.

Before knowing the taste of Indonesian coffee, Mustafa admitted he often drank coffee at Starbucks with his friends. After strolling the country, he enjoyed Indonesian coffee better. "Indonesian coffee is high-flavored, the packaging and serving are competitive with Starbucks' coffee," he said.

Mustafa remarked Indonesian should be grateful for the blessing from God. The Almighty has given so many varieties of coffee to Indonesian. "With gratitude comes pride, the taste and quality of Indonesian coffees are way much better," he said.

Mustafa called it as irony if Indonesian are not proud of their own coffee. "Even the foreigners are proud with Gayo, Toraja, and other Indonesian coffee. Why would Indonesian are not?"
