REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- A total of 28 state-owned enterprises (SOEs) dispatched some 118,220 homecoming travelers to 84 destinations across Indonesia aboard 1,920 buses and some trains, as well as ships provided by PT Pelni, and aircraft.
SOEs Minister Rini Soemarno bid farewell to the travelers at the Taman Mini Indonesia Indah in Jakarta on Monday.
"Air transportation is used to dispatch Indonesian migrant workers from Hong Kong to Indonesia. I am grateful to all parties who have facilitated the joint homecoming activity," she stated.
She expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Transport for providing transportation to the travelers and PT Jasa Raharja (Persero) for facilitating the free homecoming online registration process.
"This is the first time that we have used an online registration system, and the community fully welcomes it. Hopefully, the people would make reservations faster and much in advance next year," she noted.
President Director of PT Jasa Raharja Budi Setyarso, who was also coordinator for the Joint Homecoming, noted that the event to dispatch homecoming travelers was also held to reduce the number of motorcycle users.
"Hence, it is safer and can reduce the potential of (motorcycle) accidents," he said, adding that the corporate social responsibility funds of the involved state-owned enterprises will be utilized to cover all homecoming costs.
He affirmed that all travelers were protected under the Jasaraharja Putera-Aman insurance from PT Jasa Raharja.
The insurance will cover all risks in the homecoming trip lasting for 14 days either while departing from or returning to the residence.
"If something (a problem) happens (during the homecoming activity), please report to Jasa Raharja," he said.
