REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Attorney General HM Prasetyo  said on Friday that no decision has been made with regard to where Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) would be put after his court ruling is confirmed.

"We will determine later (it may be in Salemba or Cipinang prison)," he said.

Ahok is currently being put at the police Mobile Brigade detention center in Depok, West Java, after being moved from Cipining on security reasons pending the conclusion of the appeal process. Ahok has been sentenced by the district court to two years in jail after being declared guilty of blaspheming Islam.

Prasetyo said the ruling would be implemented after the prosecution decided to withdraw its appeal following Ahok's same decision.

Regarding demand from Ahok's lawyers who feel that Cipinang is not secure the attorney general said it will be considered as an input.

"If it is really not safe will we force to do it. If anything happens who will be responsible. However, no special treatment will be given to him," he said.

He said it was not the authority of the prosecutor's office to determine the prison but the decision is in the hands of the Directorate General of Penitentiary of the Ministry of Justice.

"It is not our competence to determine it," he added.

Regarding when the implementation would be carried out, Prasetyo said he would wait for the copy of the court's ruling. "As soon as we receive it we will implement it," he said.

The attorney general said that the prosecutor's decision to cancel its appeal was made based on usefulness.

"I think by canceling the appeal the prosecutor could concentrate on other duties," he said.
