REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno LP Marsudi has received the Myanmar delegation for the first Indonesia-Myanmar Interfaith Dialogue at the Foreign Ministry here, the ministry announced in its official twitter account, Monday.

"The interfaith dialogue will accommodate our common goal to exchange views and best practices, and deepen our knowledge to create harmony and peace," Secretary General of Myanmar Interfaith Group Tha Nyan said.

Tha Nyan remarked Indonesia was a model country, whose people managed to maintain diversity and harmony.

"Indonesia has set a good example of maintaining diversity and harmony," he noted.

Earlier, Foreign Minister Marsudi appealed to the entire Indonesian nation and the world community to continue to maintain harmony amidst diversity, when she opened the Indonesian Arts and Culture Scholarship (BSBI) program.

"Diversity is a gift, but harmony is something that each one of us has to maintain," she mentioned.

BSBI is an activity that the ministry has carried out since 2003.

Retno said BSBI was aimed at introducing a variety of typical identities and personalities of the Indonesian nation to the younger generations of friendly countries.
