REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Dangdut singer and songwriter Fahmi Sahab file a police report to Jakarta Metro Police against volunteer's team of Jakarta gubernatorial candidate, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok)-Djarot Saiful Hidayat, (Badja) with the allegation of copyright violation of a song namely "Kopi Dangdut". "It has nothing to do with the election," Fahmi said on Tuesday (April 11).

Fahmi said Badja has violated the copyright by changing the lyric of "Kopi Dangdut". He was aware of the alleged violation after watching TV on April 6, 2017. "I heard they played "Kopi Dangdut" but with different lyric," he remarked.

Fahmi tried to find full version of the song used by Badja. He found it at Youtube. "The lyric of "Kopi Dangdut" was changed completely," he said.

Yohanes Simanjuntak as Fahmi's lawyer, said changing lyrics of a song without any authorization from the creator is not allowed. It violated copyright. "Whether changing the arrangement nor the lyric," he explained.
