REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Coordinator of National Movement to Safeguard MUI’s Fatwa (GNPF MUI)’s legal team, Nasrulloh Nasution, said that the defendant in blasphemy case, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok, has never regretted his statement about Al Maidah verse 51 in Seribu Islands on September 26, 2016. In fact, he repeated his statement on other occasions. 

Nasrulloh argued that it showed in the result of the examination to defendant and additional evidence presented by public prosecutors in the trial of blasphemy case on Tuesday (April 4). The prosecutor presented two videos showing Ahok’s interview with Al Jazeera TV station and his other interview in Jakarta City Hall.

“Ahok said to Al Jazeera that he did not regret. He even insisted to repeat his statement when having other occasion to visit Seribu Islands,” said Nasrulloh to Republika.co.id on Wednesday (April 4). 

Nasrulloh said Ahok’s firm statement was arrogant. He assumed Ahok conducted the blasphemy intentionally. He added that Ahok repeated his statement in Jakarta City Hall as showed in both videos. He said to make wifi connection with the username “Al Maidah 51” and the password “kafir”.
