REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesia's Tourism Ministry has won the National Tourism Organization's "Best Asia Destination Marketing" award. The award was decided on the basis of a survey of the readers carried out by the Travel Weekly Asia magazine.
The ministry's Deputy Assistant for Foreign Marketing Development for the ASEAN Region, Rizki Handayani Mustafa, stated in a press release received here on Monday that Travel Weekly Asia, one of the top tourism media houses in Asia held its annual event, the Travel Weekly Asia Readers Choice Awards, on October 17. "The Indonesian Tourism Ministry won an award in the category of the Best Destination Marketing (National Tourism Organization), organized by Travel Weekly Asia," he informed.
The section of the media which focuses on the Asia-Pacific tourism sector appreciates the Indonesian Tourism Ministry's success in making various breakthroughs at the international level and achieving global recognition in terms of marketing, destination development, deregulation and institution building. These efforts prioritize the interest of the people and the industry.
Travel Weekly Asia carried out a survey of millions of its readers in the Asia-Pacific region to decide ratings in 46 categories for the 2016 Readers Choice Awards. Indonesia's Tourism Ministry was included in the Travel Weekly Asia's most achieving entities map in the Asia-Pacific region through a highly selective nomination process.
The Award will be given to the ministry at a ceremony was held today in the Mandarin Orchard Hotel Shisen Hanten, Singapore. It conferred by the President of Northstar Travel Group, Robert G Sullivan. "We express our gratitude towards Travel Weekly Asia, as this is very rewarding honor. Wonderful Indonesia campaign is now being appreciated by tourism industry sector everywhere," he remarked.
The Travel Weekly magazine was first published in the United States in 1958 and became a national paper as well as the travel guide in the tourism industry. From the US, the magazine expanded in Asia, bearing the name Travel Weekly Asia, and in China as Travel Weekly China. At the same time, the print edition continues to grow in North America.
