REPUBLIKA.CO.ID - The general character of terrorism is to attack the objectives applying the radicalism, cruelty and sadism, no compromise and ignoring the human principles. The concept of terrorist action is to exploit the patriotism or fanaticism on a certain belief and the willingness of someone to sacrifice his soul in the attack. From the point of type of war, terrorism is considered as a part of psychological warfare action.
The willingness of someone to sacrifice his soul in the killing action in the history of the psychological warfare during the military war was might be started by the Japanese army, called by the Japanese Military Headquarters as “kamikaze campaign” done by the Japanese pilots who were designed to hit their plane directly against the US ships in the Pacific War during the Second World War Two. The US Missoury is one of the US Ship hit by the Japanese “kamikaze attack” but without serious damage.
The willingness of the militants to sacrifice their soul as the suicide bomber in a Psychological warfare were definitely understood as the expression of patriotism and heroism of among those young people as the hero of the struggling society for their freedom or independence.
However now the dramatics of the psychological warfare exploiting the willingness of someone to sacrifice their soul in the killing attack is likely increasing. The terrorists inhumanly had exploited the unaware child as the suicide bomber to blow the bomb to demolish the social crowd. It is believed the child exploited as the suicide bomber definitely did not understand to the instrument tightened on his body is ready to be blown using remote control when the child was already among the target.
This situation had happened in Turkey close to the border with Syria, the two countries that are in political and military conflict and internally facing various radical conflicts among their tribes and groups.
This report is intended to wake up the awareness of all the society in Indonesia to be carefully taking care of their child and those young generation of their respective society in order not to be exploited by those inhuman evil terrorists.
Multiple opposition parties denounced the attack, as did many foreign governments including the U.S., Germany, Austria, Russia, Egypt, Sweden, Greece, France, Bahrain, Qatar and Jordan and global institutions including the United Nations, the European Union and NATO.
The conflicting situation in Turkey is complicated. Internationally Turkey is affected by the bad influence of the activities of ISIS in Syria. Internally the political conflicts between groups, such as the separatist against the Government forces and the conflict provoked by the horizontal conflict influenced by different ideology have marked the crucial, political and security situation of this country.
Definitely we do not want to make the political judgment to the political situation in Turkey but we are attracted to the nature of the internal political conflict among them in term of especially the exploitation of terrorism in those various conflict. We do not have the detail information on the political situation of Turkey, however we tend to consider the worst application of the democratic principles in any country will easily provoke the development of the political conflict becoming worse.
The exploitation of the child as the suicide bomber in the action of terrorism activities in Turkey has been likely indicating the serious decreasing of democratic principles and sense of humanity in their effort to solve the existing conflict of among the society in the country. The Turkey Government however is advocating that the terrorist action was conducted by the radical element of the Islamic States of Iraq and Syria that wants to destabilize Turkey.
We are expecting that kind of situation (both the terrorist activity and the exploitation of a child as the suicide bomber) would never happened in Indonesia and for that kind of purpose the existence of the National Agency for Combating Terrorism (BNPT) under the coordination of the Coordinating Ministry of Political, Legal and Seurity Affairs could prevent the worst situation. We certainly are expecting in the recent coordination meeting held by the Coordinating Ministry of Political, Legal and Security Affairs, all the Cabinet Ministers were participating and cordially discussed how to cope with the threat of terrorism in Indonesia using development in the Middle East and other countries as the reference.
We do hope that all the Government Ministries realize that all the Cabinet’s Ministries to have the mission and function to prevent the increase of terrorism in Indonesia. The Indonesian democracy has been definitely stressed that the cordial political communication among various political groups of Indonesia is the best method to avoid the physical confrontation among those political groups in Indonesia.
The education on both the general knowledge/science and the National Ideology for all the level of peoples of Indonesia are definitely very important. The application of democratic principles among the society mainly the perfect political communication among groups of people should likely be perfected to avoid the increasing rivalry, hostility and confrontation endangering the national unity.
The constitutional step likely important to be taken by the People’s Consultative Assembly to rectify the political system applied in Indonesia to day, namely the implement of the national development that is based on the Broad Lines of the National Development Program as it was done during the New Order period. The Broad Lines of The National Development Program is definitely intended to guarantee the implementation of the national development in Indonesia worked coordinately, comprehensively, simply and systematically.
