West Jakarta police arrest three Malaysian drug dealer

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- West Jakarta Police have revealed foregin methamphetamine syndicate. They have arrested three Malaysians and two Indonesians in Surabaya, East Java.

"The police have followed suspects from Jakarta to Surabaya," said Head of Public Relations for the Jakarta Police Commissioner Awi Setiyono on Wednesday (31/8).

Police have arrested three Malaysians as drug dealer named Cheong Kok Wai (31 years), Poon Soke Wan (26), and Luu Yon Long. While the two Indonesians acted as couriers are Christian Sigit Pamungkas (35) and Peter (23). "The buyer with initial AI is still on the run," Awi said.

Awi explained police initially processed data and received information related to alleged drug transaction in network of China-Malaysia-Indonesia. They supplied drugs via courier.

From this information, police have detained Cheong Kok Wai and Poon Soke Wan as suspects and seized three grams of meth in room 4202 in Apartment Central Park Resident Tanjung Duren, West Jakarta on Monday (29/8).

Police have learned the case and investigating the suspects Christian Sigit Pamungkas and Peter as couriers with 12 kilograms of methamphetamine in the parking lot of Surabaya Pasar Turi Railway Station on Monday (29/8).

Furthermore, officers arrested Luu Yon Long with evidence two sets of electronic to send the illicit drug at the Ibis Budget Hotel Surabaya on Tuesday (30/8). The suspects were charged Article 114 subsidiary Article 112 subsidiary Article 132 of Law No. 35 of 2009 with maximum penalty of death row.
