REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The national flag carrier Garuda Indonesia has been crowned the "most loved" airline in the world based on a survey conducted by SkyTrax, an independent airline quality ratings agency based in London.
Garuda Indonesia has been ranked first with a satisfaction score of 85 percent among 420 airlines worldwide featured, Garuda Indonesia President Director M Arif Wibowo said in a press statement released on Tuesday.
In this regard, he expressed his gratitude to the world community for their appreciation and support given to Garuda Indonesia.
"The award is either a pride or challenge for Garuda Indonesia to always do its best for its passengers," he said.
Arif said the success is inseparable from the hard work of thousands of hands that have given their best services to customers of Garuda Indonesia as five star airline.
The SkyTrax air travel review website has unveiled the Most Loved Airlines based on its customer reviews. With more than 420 airlines worldwide featured, customers rate their flights across eight categories including seat comfort, onboard services, food & beverages, inflight entertainment, onboard wifi, airport services and value for money.
As part of reviews, many customers upload photos of their flight experience. Customers score their overall flight experience using a one-to-ten score, and the Most Loved airline scores are based upon the aggregate of these ratings.
Asian airlines dominate 11 of the Top 15 positions, Garuda Indonesia at No 1 with a satisfaction score of 85%, Asiana Airlines second on 83% satisfaction, and EVA Air in third position with 81% satisfaction.
Some time ago, Garuda Indonesia was also crowned as one of the most loved airlines in the world based on the TripAdvisor application.
