BPOM monitors circulation of fake vaccines in Lampung

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDAR LAMPUNG -- Lampung Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) has sent team to conduct investigation about to the distribution of fake vaccines since Friday (24/6). Until Thursday (30/6), BPOM not yet discovered the circulation of fake vaccines in Lampung.

Head of Certification and Consumer Information Services Lampung BPOM, Tri Suyarto said, the team has been deployed since last Friday to investigate distribution of fake vaccines that enter to Lampung.

"The team has been working since last Friday," he said on Thursday.

The team has worked to hospitals, clinics, mother and child health care centers, local health post (Posyandu), and midwife. He added, the team comprise of personnel of BPOM only, not involve the relevant agencies. And until now, he added, the team has not found the fake vaccines and receives reports from the societies.

''But, the team is still working and we have not received official report,'' he said.

BPOM hope residents in Lampung remain alert about the circulation of the fake vaccines. Because, Lampung province to be the gateway distribution of fake vaccines from Java Island.
