REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Head of the National Bureau of Narcotics (BNN) Comr. Gen. Budi Waseso said he supports the program of police reformation planned by police chief candidate Comr. Gen. Tito Karnavian.
"I support Mr Tito to work well to reform the state police to be able to provide better service for the public," Budi Waseso said here on Monday.
He said he already congratulated Tito after the House of Representative approved the sole candidate proposed by President Joko Widodo to replace outgoing police chief Gen, Badrodin Haiti, who is entering his retirement age.
"A already sent my congratulatory message to Mr Tito as new police chief . Hopefully he would soon be installed by the president that he could work immediately to carry out his programs," he said.
He said Tito is a good leader and he is clean as already confirmed by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the Indonesian Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK).
Budi Waseso was one of the strong candidates proposed by the the National Police Commission, the president picked Tito the youngest among nine three star police generals.
Earlier in the day, in a plenary session in the day the House of Representatives gave its approval for Tito as the country's new police chief.
The president is expected to officially installed Tito immediately after the House approval with all factions endorsing.
