REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Publicly listed companies in Indonesia saw their profit increasing by 8.60 percent last year compared to the previous year's, the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) said.
"Based on annual reports from issuers in 2015, the average growth of issuers' comprehensive profit in 2015 reached Rp591.81 billion compared to Rp544.94 billion in 2014," chief of the BEI's corporate communication Dwi Shara Soekarno said in a press statement released on Sunday.
The BEI also recorded that the average growth of the issuers' comprehensive profit in 2015 reached 16.35 percent and 74.3 percent of issuers were able to make profit, she said.
The base and chemical industries recorded the highest profit hike at 67.9 percent last year compared to other sectors, she said.
Meanwhile, the mining sector managed to post a profit of Rp3.44 trillion compared to Rp1.03 trillion a year earlier, she said.
Based on contribution to the total comprehensive profit, the biggest contributors of the total comprehensive profit are issuers engaged in the financial sector with 41.31 percent, followed by the consumption sector at 13.08 percent, and the infrastructure, facility and transportation sector at 12.34 percent.
