Uber's response to driver sexual case on student

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesian Uber Management expressed sympathy for DA (13 years), victim of sexual abuse by Uber taxu driver, A (23). As a result, Uber will terminate it's cooperation with A.

"We removed the partnership of driver (A) from the Uber platform and we are ready to provide assistance to the authorities if required in the legal process," Indonesian Uber Management said in a statement to the Republika.co.id, Thursday (2/6).

DA, a junior high school student in central Jakarta, reported sexual abuse by a taxi driver to West Jakarta Police on Wednesday (1/6). A allegedly did sexual abuse on DA  in a lodging in Taman Sari, West Jakarta. Uber claimed, based on the information they received, the incident is not related to the partnership access to its driver against.

"It happened in their private time," they said.

West Jakarta Police has arrested the perpetrator A with some of evidences, such as the immoral videos on offender's mobile phone. Meanwhile the victim has undergone vise at the Police Hospital, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta.
