REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) said that almost every day he signed the dismissal of civil servants (PNS).
The statement followed discourse from Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (minister-RB), Yuddy Chrisnandi that will be laying off a million civil servants. Ahok supported the Yuddy's idea to improve the staffs quality.
"Almost every day we sign the dismissal. If the boss absent for 45 days without clear reason, we propose to fired. If they accepted money from others, we immediately fire them," he said on Thursday ( 2/6).
He believed the dismissal of hundreds of civil servants will not interfere with the Jakarta provincial government. Moreover, he continued, the number of civil servants of Jakarta is already too much.
"It was excess of staff," he said.
He hope the reduction of civil servants who have poor performances can improve the quality of civil servants in Jakarta Provincial Administration.
