Citarum Bestari will be continued until Citarum River clean

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- Citarum Bestari Program launched on Thursday (2/6), will conducted continually. Although the program formally ended in December 2016, but cleaning the Citarum River will be continued.

"This program ends until December 2016, but in January 2017 will be continued again. So Citarum Bestari constantly in progress," West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan (Aher) told to reporters in the declaration of Citarum Bestari in Village of Cangkuang Wetan, sub-district Dayeuhkolot, Bandung, on Thursday.

The declaration of Citarum Bestari besides attending by Aher and his Deputy Deddy Mizwar, Commander III Siliwangi Major General Hadi Prasojo, Bandung Regent Dadang Naser, and Head of Regional Environmental Agency (BPLHD) of West Java Anang Sudarna also in presence in declaration. There are five things that become the main focus in the declaration of Citarum Bestari.

First, not cut down trees in the upper of Citarum river to avoid flood disasters. Second, not to dispose of animal waste into the Citarum River. Third, not dispose of household waste into the Citarum river and its tributaries. Fourth, not throwing industrial waste. And last, not throwing any garbage into the river.
