License of ground handling of Air Asia and Lion Air suspended

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Directorate General of Civil Aviation Ministry of Transportation temporarily suspend services activities of passengers and baggage at airports or ground handling of PT Lion Group and PT Indonesia Air Asia at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

Director General of air route ministry of transportation Suprasetyo said the suspend was effectively for five days after issuance of the freezing letter.

"With the issuance of freezing letter is aimed to the improvement in the service of flight services," he said, Wednesday (18/5).

Thus, he added, the two companies had to look for other ground handling services company for five days to replace the company whose license has been suspended.

Suprasetyo said the decision was based on Law No. 1 Year 2009 on Aviation, the Ministerial Regulation No. 55 Year 2015 on Civil Aviation Safety Regulation Part 139 (Regulation of Civil Aviation Safety) of the airport (aerodrome) and PM Number 56 Year 2015 on the activities at the airport, as amended by PM No. 187 in 2015.
