REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) has received inputs from the private sector on infrastructure development in Indonesia.
The feedback was obtained during the Business Working Group (BWG) Indonesia held in the World Economic Forum here on Tuesday.
"BWG is a forum that offers a platform to voice the problems faced by the government in its efforts to strengthen private sector investments," Head of Bappenas Sofyan Djalil stated here on Tuesday.
"Further, they tried to identify the problems," the minister remarked.
Djalil pointed out that one of the inputs received during the BWG was related to the implementation of public-private partnership schemes for developing infrastructure projects.
"We will encourage public-private partnership projects," he noted.
The scheme offered a guarantee for future infrastructure development. Therefore, the government would streamline policies that hindered the implementation of the scheme.
"In addition, another input received at the BWG was to boost long-term financing for infrastructure development by utilizing insurance and pension funds that were currently not used to fund infrastructure projects," Djalil added.
