REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Commission VIII on religious affairs of the House of Representatives (DPR) is still evaluating the implementation of the hajj pilgrimage program in 2015 and discussing the hajj pilgrimage cost (BPIH) for 2016.

The discussion of the two issues was carried out by the Commission's hajj cost working committee, Commission VIII member Khotibul Umam Wiranu said here Saturday.

The working committee is working seriously to finish the BPIH 2016, he said.

"There are a lot of dynamisms in the working committee," he said.

The working committee has also agreed to discuss the BPIH with the Ministry of Religious Affairs. "This is in response to the hajj financial report filed with the House Commission VIII some time ago," he said.

In the report, there were several spending posts considered to violate agreements between the House and the Ministry of Religious Affairs. "Some lawmakers believed the spending disadvantaged the hajj financing by some Rp1 trillion," he said.
