REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Coordinating for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Minister Luhut Binsar Panjaitan said the government together with BNN was observing and supervising regional heads who indicated taking drugs. The government will take stern action against regional heads who proved to be using drugs.
Luhut said as leaders they should be an example and a role model. If there is a regional head even taking drugs or even engage in circulation, he said, it is unforgivable.
"They are head of the region, should be an example. This is evidence that the drug is already attacking all fronts. Our observation continues," said Luhut, Tuesday.
Luhut said today he urges BNN to conduct strict inspections and searches. Previously, he himself and colleagues in the Office of the Coordinating Minister has done a urine test to detect whether there are drugs or not.
On the other hand, the Head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) Commissioner General Pol Budi Waseso said it already bagged several heads of areas suspected to have indications of drugs. Because, given the example of the Ogan Ilir Regent cases, there are still some regional heads also involved in the same thing.
