Flood submerges rice fields in Mukomuko

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MUKOMUKO -- Flood sumbmeged rice fields measuring eight hectares in Sungai Ipuh village, Mukomuko District in Bengkulu Province, Sunday.

The flooding was triggered by incessent heavy rains that had fallen in the village since Saturday afternoon, Adi, a local inhabitant, said.

Local farmers whose rice fields were affected by the flood, suffered material losses worth more than Rp50 million.

He urged the local government to build a dyke to prevent water from Gading River from spilling over to farming areas.
