Children need sex education to avoid LGBT influences

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) Chairman Asrorun Niam reminded the importance roles of society, parent, including school to give the sex education to children.

The education, according to Asrorun, will avoid children from deviant sexual behavior such as Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT).

"Sex education such as understanding, what is appropriate and inappropriate to touch and see by the other," said Niam on Friday (19/2).

Sex education has to adapt to social norm and religious norm in Indonesia. That is included education about reproduction process and right age to get married said Niam.

"Included, religious norm related to reproduction process, related to right age to get married and also social activity acceptance by social norm and also religious norm," said Niam.
