Foreigner begins to work in West Nusa Tenggara tourism

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MATARAM -- Department of Tourism and Culture West Nusa Tenggarra said if foreign workers entered that province and started to work in tourism sector.

Based on the data, the number of foreign workers was about 90. In fact, 50 percent owner of the companies in Gili Trawangan was foreigners.

"General Manager of Novotel in Central Lombok is Korean,” head of culture and tourism department West Nusa Tenggara told reporters on Tuesday (2/2).

According to him, the policy of ASEAN Economic Community (MEA) has been running since early January. Because of that, the number of foreign workers increased.

He admitted that immigration should be able to monitor foreigners who come to West Nusa Tenggara.  Until now, Department of Tourism and Culture West Nusa Tenggara said they will coordinate with Mataram immigration in order to detect and ascertain how many foreign workers in that province.
