REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama declared the prohibition about operation of pedicab in capital region has been regulated by Regional Regulation, so it may not be removed.
His statement was delivered directly, related to the protests that carried out by a group of pedicab driver. Basuki or usually called Ahok said he was give tolerance for pedicab driver to have operation in several areas in Jakarta.
"The prohibition cannot be changed because it was set in the Law No 8/2007 on public order. It cannot be revoked," Ahok said on Thursday (28/1).
Furthermore, the former East Belitung regent was also suggested that pedicab driver should find another job. It was because some pedicab drivers were newcomers from many regions in Indonesia.
