REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Corruption suspect Damayanti Wisnu Putranti offered herself to be justice collaborator to help the Corruption Eradication Commission in unearthing the corruption case believed to implicate a number of other perpetrators.
Damayanti, a lawmaker of Commission V of the Parliament from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) was arrested after being caught red handed receiving bribe.
She received bribe from a company as fee to help the company won a contract to build construction projects of the Public Works and Housing Ministry in Maluku.
KPK public relation officer Yuyuk Andriati said Damayanti's offer, received on Friday, has yet to be studied by the agency.
If accepted as justice collaborator, Damayanti is entitled to most lenient punishment among the suspects found guilty in the case.
KPK has yet to hear testimonies from more witnesses including the public works and housing minister Basuki Hadimuljono if necessary.
"No confirmation yet whether the minister is to be summoned for questioning or not," Yuyuk said.
KPK already named other suspects including Julia Prasetyarini(UWI) and Dessy A Edwin (DES) , both Damayanti's assistants and Abdul Khoir, the director of PT WTU that provided the bribe money .
Damayanrti, Julia Prasetyarini(UWI) and Dessy A Edwin (DES) received 33,000 Singapore dollar each or a total of S$99,000.
PT WTU provided S$404,000 in bribe money as fee, KPK , therefore, believed Damayanti and her two assistants were not the only receivers of the bribe.
