REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, LUWU -- Work on the runway extension at Sorowako Airport in Luwu Timur, South Sulawesi is scheduled to be completed by April this year, acting head of East Luwu District Irman Yasin Limpo has stated.
"Airport development activities are still on and the runway extension will be completed in April," Limpo explained in East Luwu here on Saturday.
On a tour to observe the work at the Sorowako Airport, Limpo was accompanied by, among others, the head of Ministry of Transportation, Communication and Information (Dishubkominfo), Andy Murphy.
According to Limpo, the extension will add 300 meters to the existing runway.
"Today, the runway reaches 1,050 meters, but after the addition, it will reach 1,350 meters," he said.
