Bekraf to revise 2016 Asian Games mascot

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Creative Economy Agency (Bekraf) planned to assist Ministry of Youth and Sports to revise 2018 Asian Games mascot, that was considered less attractive by people.

A press release from  Ministry of Youth and Sports on Thursday (31/12) stated, Chief of Bekraf Triawan Munaf came to the Ministry office and expressed his desire to help revising 2018 Asian Games mascot.

Triawan said, Indonesia now has many young creators and a number of professional communities in the field of creative industries, branding, logo and mascot. They works were very good and some of which were internationally recognized.

"The revision would retain Cendrawasih bird," he said.

At the beginning of next week, a meeting would be held and attended by representatives of Ministry of Youth and Sports, Bekraf and Indonesian Olympiad Committee (KOI). Bekraf would also invite a certain number of professionals to contribute in revising 2018 Asian Games logo and mascot.

Earlier, on 27th December 2015 in Senayan, Ministry of Youth and Sport had launched logo and mascot of 2018 Asian Games. But, the community considered the logo and mascot less attractive.
